Who I am

I previously qualified as a youth and community worker, and have spent several years working for advice, support and youth services in York and Leeds. I still work regularly with local young people's services, mainly in the area of young people's involvement in democracy and in developing publicity, images, films and online / social media presence.

As well as my design and photography work, I am proud to be a part-time manager of the online support services offered by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, at www.youngcarers.net and www.carers.org . We provide confidential advice, support, to the thousands of children, young people and adults who look after people at home with an illness or a disability. Importantly, we also offer the chance for carers to interact with each other in safety. I'm a Trustee of York Carers Centre, and am currently training to run the 2010 Virgin London Marathon in aid of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

Finally, I spend two or three evenings a week wearing a top hat telling ghost stories on the streets of York. Perhaps you've seen me.
